E-zekiel Version 2.0 Announced
MONTGOMERY, AL. — A full release of Version 2.0 of E-zekiel, a Web site content management product from Axletree Media, takes effect mid-August.
With more than 7,000 customers in 18 countries, E-zekiel enables churches and other ministries to create professional-looking Web sites without technical expertise – and at only a fraction of the cost of traditional Web site development. Having such a strong customer base already on board, it’s no wonder programmers relied heavily on customer input when updating the successful product.
“Our primary goal has been to make the software even easier to use while adding functionality that enhances our customers' ability to maintain their sites,” said Todd Cotton, Axletree’s Vice President for Technology and Engineering. The result is a content management product that provides a more intuitive process – with editing, file management and site management following a logical ordering of functions.
“Improving a successful product with which our customers have been satisfied was a challenge,” Cotton said, “but customer suggestions and feedback helped us add features they value without adding unnecessary complexity.”
Version 2.0’s upgrades fall into four key areas:
Expands access – Sites can be created and edited using a PC or Mac, through Internet Explorer, Netscape and Firefox browsers.
Makes tasks easier – An improved interface and reorganized layout make for a smoother and more productive user experience.
Improves editing capabilities – A more powerful editor enables users to do more in less time, along with integration of find-and-replace, spell-check, anchors, universal keyboard and other upgraded features for layout management.
Offers faster file management – Materials such as pictures, graphics and other documents can be stored in one location, in multiple levels of folders and with delete-and-add capabilities for multiple records.
Because E-zekiel is accessed through a browser, no additional software purchases are required, and the upgraded Version 2.0 is provided at no additional cost to current customers. The new version will be accessed through the Control Panel, where all users are routed after log-in.
Cotton predicted that the learning curve for current customers will be small but added that customer support will be available to users during the transition and beyond.
